Wheelchair Loan Scheme
As a member of Adapt (North East), you can borrow a wheelchair or mobility aid for up to one month. Simply collect and return it from our office in Hexham. This is a service we’ve been proud to offer for several years. The current membership rates are as follows:
- £10 – Individual
- £17 – Community Group
- £37 – Funded Voluntary Group
- £47 – Statutory Body or Private Company
You can become a member of Adapt (NE) here, or when collecting your wheelchair.
We have a range of wheelchairs available, including self-propelling and lightweight models. As availability is limited, we advise contacting us in advance to reserve your preferred wheelchair. The loan service operates Monday to Friday, 9am – 3pm. Payment is accepted by cash or card upon collection. Donations are gratefully received and go towards supporting the continued operation of this service.
If you have any further questions, please call 01434 600599 (option 4). Please note that we are closed on weekends and Bank Holidays. We are unable to process any wheelchair loans or returns during these times.
Collection is at our offices on Burn Lane, Hexham, NE46 3HN. We have free parking available on-site. The Adapt site is a 15 minute walk from the local train station and bus station.
